Apple ‘Shop’ Opens in Paris FNAC Store

July 1, 2007

The MacGeneration Web site reports en français that electronics retailer fnac store in Paris opened a new 3,200 square-foot “Apple Shop” inside its branch at 77-81 boulevard Saint-Germain. It’s the largest of the 12 Shops that have opened so far inside European retailers, a concept started in the 2006 holiday shopping season to satisfy Apple enthusiasts until the company can find suitable locations to open their own retail stores in France. The shop’s interior is a duplicate of Apple’s own stores, including the wood display tables, iPod headphone stands, help bar stools and back-lit Apple logos on the wall. The Apple-hired and trained staff will also provide training and troubleshooting for the company’s products. fnac says it will open five more Apple Shops by year’s end, and Apple says other retailers will open another 10 Shops in the same period.
