Apple Opens ‘Shop’ In Germany

May 15, 2007

A strange hybrid retail space has opened in Hamburg (Germany), combining Apple’s products and retail design with the giant Saturn electronics retailer to create an “Apple Shop.” The partnership puts wooden display tables, a Genius Bar and black stools and back-lit Apple logos within 260 square-feet, in the middle of Saturn’s store on Monckebergstrasse. Even more intriguing is that Apple’s German Web site promotes the space-within-a-store, and includes photos of its grand opening on May 11th. Apple is believed to have plans for an official retail store in Frankfurt, possibly opening in 2008.

I’ve been there about year ago, April 2006…yes, in the Hamburg Saturn shop – there’s been a little “Apple Corner”. No genius bar or anything, but there was quite trained staff to help people.

I may still have photos, if you want any, mail me and I’ll look what I can find ;)
