Apple Targets Southwest UK

May 5, 2007

Apple has targeted the southwest part of the United Kingdom by leasing a space inside the Princesshay Development in Exeter. The city of about 120,000 residents has its own charm, but is generally off the tourist trail and away from major attractions. But the Princesshay Development intends to attract locals from a wide area with city-centre shops, apartments, restaurants, pedestrian malls and open space. The development, similar to Liverpool One where Apple will also locate, is opening in phases, but will be fully operational by Christmas 2007. Expect the Apple store to open at the same time.

I just did a search for an programming job in Exeter for the summer, as I’m studying here and saw the Princesshay jobs come up. I have said for around a year that it looks to be the perfect place for an Apple store, with it being in the southwest without any other places so far close enough to get to. Could be the easiest store opening I’ve been to, it’s only a 10 minute walk from my house! :D
