I live in louisville and I will be sure to get some pictures of the store as construction progressess. This mall has a lot of vacancies currently in it so it will be hard to tell where in the mall the sotre will be (for now)

Midwest store coverage? Kentucky is not in the Midwest. There isn’t really a good geographic label for its location, but for historical/ideological reasons it’s usually referred to as part of the South. The Wikipedia article is pretty good: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Midwest

Wow! That’s what I call exciting news! We here truly need an Apple store! I, for one, will happily shop there! We have an active MacGroup here and many Mac users… the store should do very well.

Matt, the western part of KY is usually referred to as the Midwest because of its IN, IL, MO influences. Whereas the central & eastern part is considered the South due to its TN, VA influences. Yeah, its messed up since KY is kinda in the middle of all that, so its hard to categorize it as strictly one thing.

Finally! Although, personally I would have liked to see one being built in Lexington this is the next best thing. I’ll definitely be making a lot of trips to Louisville now. A lot better than the dozen times I’ve driven to Cincinnati to visit an Apple store.

Does anyone know if construction has begun? I’d love to come up and check it out a few times while its being built and will definitely make it to the grand opening.

Thank gawd! I will be checking out Oxmoor to see where they are going to put it. I cannot wait!

Hot Dayum! When is the Grand Opening?

I checked it out last time I took my daughter shopping at Oxmoor and my guess is the spot directly across from the newly opened Sephora is where the Apple Store will be. There is nothing to see except for the construction facade that says another exciting new shop is coming soon. It will be very exciting for us Louisvillians to have our own little bit of Cupertino right here.

There is now a black facade with the giant white apple logo in the mall. I think it’s gonna open soon!!! I hope so at least!
