Here in Salem (Ore.) we have the Mac Store. They are the representives for APPLE. I have had a lot of dealings with them and the manager Josh knows what customer service is. I had problems with my G5 and he made sure that they stayed on top of things and when things got bad, was on the phone to Apple in a heart beat. Warranty was honored and the dust settled and all was good. The Mac store is the best.

I wish Apple would reverse their decision to remove theatre spaces in the back of their stores. I have enjoyed many of the staff and guest presentations over the last 4 or 5 years and I think they were essential for me when I “switched” from a PC. I attended 3 or 4 free Saturday morning classes at the Store early on and that made a real difference in being able to enjoy the new computer.
Also, listening to Mac professionals during store-sponsored lectures and events was always very interesting and I met a lot of very creative people.

As a former Mac Genius I would like to say that comments posted for some of these stores are bull, for example the situation described for the Woodland store in Grand Rapids. 1. If the ipod was in warranty and had no physical damage Apple would honor the limited one year warranty. 2. The only reason the customer would ever be sent back to Best Buy would be if they had been conned into Best Buy’s extended warranty. 3. Apples database does not feed into Best Buy in any shape or form. Best Buy has no idea who owns what other then a proof of purchase. On the Walden Store comment, is waiting your turn really that bad? for free tech support? So please in the defense of Apple take these comments with a grain of salt.
