Whoa! Awesome, take that Sydney!

It’s in the innercity suburb of South Yarra, in the city of Stonnington (that’s the local council) in Melbourne.

Isn’t this just a developer’s idea and not Apple’s? Seems he is just looking to generate publicity for his development. As far as I can tell, major flagship stores are located in city centres and not (inner) suburbs. [ifo-I believe you're correct about the design being "proposed." However, I'm sure the developer had some measure of cooperation from Apple in using their architectural plans for the proposal.]

It’s Toorak Road, not Street.

We’d love to get an Apple Store in Melbourne, but they’re talking about tearing down a very well-known historic building, so it’s going to be controversial — and some of that might rub off on Apple.

See also Google Maps.

The rumour is that the store will be based at the old Fun Factory site on the corner of Toorak Rd and Chapel Street, South Yarra. It would be a splendid location!
