Old Store Slated For Renovation

January 17, 2007

The Mall at Millenia (Orlando, Fla.) retail store will close for five full days starting January 22nd to construct a temporary store while renovations are made to the store, which opened in October 2003. The store features wood floors, white Corian display fixtures, a rear POS and right-side Genius Bar. The renovations could include stone flooring, wood display tables, a relocated Genius Bar and a new Studio. During the closure Apple is directing customers to the Florida Mall store three miles away for Genius Bar appointments during the closure week.

I was at this store’s grand opening (which was actually October of 02) and have been a steady customer since. The staff is great, but the store is definitely run down with how busy they get. Glad to see this taking place, bravo Apple!

I was also at the grand opening of the Millenia store, on holiday from the UK at the time, and I go back every time I’m in Florida. The staff are great, always friendly and helpful. The real problem with the store is the size – it’s too small for the number of people using it. Apple should bite the bullet on this one and look for a larger space an Millenia.

I just visited the Apple Store today and it is back up, they were closed for a whole week. One of the Mac Specialist said that they are going to be in the mini store for 12 weeks and they are going to remodel the whole store around the mini store. They did a great job for one week hope the final Apple store looks just a great, and the staff is amazing, would never go to the Florida mall because the staff isn’t is great as the Millenia. Wish I had pictures!!
