A big crowd attended yesterday’s 2:30 p.m. grand opening of the iStyle Apple Premium Reseller store in Prague (Czech Republic) at Revolucni 3. The chain has other stores in central and eastern Europe that feature many of Apple’s state-side design features, including bright lighting and white Corian product display stands. The first 1,000 customers received a discount of about $70 on a 2 Gb silver iPod nano that retails for $240. Check the photos of the grand opening, which shows a crowd of stylish Mac enthusiasts examining the new store, and these photos showing the store design and architecture.

Oh yeah…here’s Apple putting another nail in independent dealer coffin. Friend told me that this iStyle is owned by Apple IMC for the Czech Republic - it is basically owned by the Apple itself. They just had a dealer open a store in Prague and didn’t even give them time establish before opening this “own” store. Their grand opening “sale” already saw them selling ipods below their own dealer puchase price. It’s shameful.
