Apple's renewed the proposal. Hearing in Los Gatos in mid Feb. '07. No major opposition.

I'm really hoping the town council finds a resolution to this quickly. The Los Gatos downtown area would really benefit from an Apple store (I say this as a long-time resident and former technical coordinator of an all-Mac school in LG). To be hung up by a 1% increase in "formula" stores is just another example of why they need to seriously reconsider the intense degree of bureaucracy they employ on most decisions regarding businesses moving into town.

Also, I'd really love an Apple store t-shirt with my home town's name on the front. ^_^

Fun Los Gatos Bureaucracy Fact: Los Gatos does not allow drive-thru restaurants. It has a single drive-thru Jack In The Box that was there before the town legislation was passed. Also: "no cruising" laws.
