As we approach the second birthday of the Regent Street (London) store, Apple has promised to finish renovations that include a second Studio Bar, new iPod Bar and a glass elevator like the one at the Fifth Avenue store. Since the theater is part of the construction zone, presentations are being given in a small area in a front corner of the ground floor. White plywood covering the construction zone at the back of the ground and second floors, and the right side of the second floor tell all: “Something old, something new, something borrowed and something see-through” is painted on the plywood. The message also says it will all be finished, “Just in time for our second anniversary,” which is November 20th. However, the glass elevator has reportedly delayed the renovation–the hold for the shaft had to be dug deeper, forcing the re-routing of utility pipes beneath the 1898-era building. I’m confused? why is there 2 studios? and where’s the elevator on the main floor?
The Ground floor elevator is behind the white wall with Apple logo on it. Crazy fat glass elevator.
