This is good and maybe closer than San Antonio, but when (if) might there be a store in Lubbock, TX… this town gathers retail customers from it’s entire surrounding area, including most areas of West Texas and eastern New Mexico. It has also been said that Lubbock is an excellent retail testing ground, a massive new retail project is in the works on the west side of town (called Canyon West), city population of 210,000, and of course a state university right there. Why not? It drives me nuts that the nearest store is east Texas (or now New Mexico)… no choice but the crummy Comp USA here. Anyway… I’ll keep dreaming.

Hey everyone…just went by the Albuquerque store….silver front with Apple logo, glass in front all covered up by paper. Emplyees hanging out in the back.

Here’s a photo (really bad, from a camphone):

Anyone planning on hanging out in front of the store in line well before it opens? How early are you guys planning on lining up? I’m driving in from out of town 4 hours away on Tuesday night and staying with family.

I think I’m gonna shoot for 8 am at the latest Wednesday. Hopefully I can get there closer 7, but that’s up to the wife’s abilty to wake up with me (she’s enthusiastic for the store, but I don’t know if she’s 7 am enthusiastic).

It doesn’t open until 10 ! Do you really think there will be more than 1000 people there before 10 ??

I’ll be there bright and early. Is 0800 early?

I drove by yesterday and the mall was crowded. There was lots of traffic and enough cars in the parking lot that you couldn’t tell it wasn’t open yet. They had security guards directing traffic.

It will probably be easiest to park behind the store on the east side of the mall. There is a big lot there. - Duffey

I went by this evening, and they looked ready except they were adjusting the main door and needed to sweep the front walk. There was a sign up saying they will be open at 10am tomorrow as planned. No one was camping out yet, but it was only 6pm.

We’ll see how early I get there, but I guess I’ll shoot for 8am. That should give plenty of time to socialize with people in line before we all go inside and put on headphones :-) Maybe we can play “stump the genius”.

Anyone going to blog while they camp out? URLs?

See you guys there bright and early!
