The Topanga (S. Calif.) retail store opened Friday morning to a huge crowd that discovered the store is 75-feet wide and is a clone of the Fifth Avenue (NYC) store. The store breaks out of the 30 or 40-foot standard space, and also expands upon the new store design that was introduced at Columbia (Md.) and Providence (RI) two weeks ago. The front of the store features a wide-open entrance, and a Fifth Avenue-like interior: wide aisles, large display tables, back-lit wall graphics, trio of bars, and stainless steel walls. The realmacgenius has posted photos of the grand opening that show what may become the new standard for Apple’s mall stores.

It was a good sized crowd, but it was due to the grand re-opening of the Westfield Topanga Center. They still have a lot of work to do! There was no way to line up for the Apple Store early, like the night before, because they were painting (The Canyon) that portion of the mall. Every entrance had a guard that didn’t know much. Nordstrom’s had a tent in the parking lot so their emplyees could get ready to go to work. After the ribbon cutting for the mall, a line did form for the Apple Store and stretched around the upper concourse. The store opened around 10:30 AM to much hype and noise from the enthusiastic crew. But I bet those shirts lasted all day!
wow. now i really regret having to go in to school for a senate meeting. how i wish i could have been one of the first in line for this. i suppose building a connection to my responsibilities is more important, right?
Isn’t the Bluewater store in the UK store that big aswell, or is it me?
The shirts was all gone around 11:30 AM so I could not get any extras. :(
I went to both Apple and Sony store and sony store wouldn’t let me taking picture inside of the store. Sony also giveaway free T-shirts but no one’s really know about it or seems like nobody interested in.
Hey this site is awesome…I’ve already told you this, but just stating my opinion again.
I also had an idea…you should make a section where us crazy apple store phanatics can buy and trade our apple store shirts. Many of us are able to get more than one if we bring friends to the openigns and would be more than happy to trade shirts to get another one from a different store.
I’m also sure people wouldnt mind buying or selling shirts here either.
