Boston Store Plans ‘Resolved’

October 6, 2006

Architecture and design issues have apparently been resolved for Apple’s proposed Boylston Street (Boston) retail store, according to discussions during this week’s public hearing on the project. According to the Boston Real Estate Blog, the fire escape issue has been resolved, and demolition of the existing building could begin by the end of November. At the hearing, Apple’s representatives displayed renderings and a model of the proposed store, which features a glass storefront set in front of exposed columns covered in stainless steel. The 3-story building will have a spiral glass staircase beneath a skylight, with the Genius, Studio and iPod bars on the third floor, and a second-floor theater.
