The “Hollywood Reporter” reveals that CBS has committed to a comedy pilot titled “Genius Bar” that, “explores the interactions between people who work at a place similar to the Genius Bar at the Apple stores and the cool, hip and beautiful employees at a nearby Abercrombie & Fitch-type store.” The series was pitched by former “That ’70s Show” writers Josh Sternin and Jeff Ventimilia, and all the networks conducted “spirited bidding” to obtain the rights, the trade journal said. No casting decisions have been announced. The Grove Apple store is about 750 feet from the CBS studios where many of the network’s shows are taped.

Do we know if this is the new format for mall stores?
It could just wither on the vine like so many sitcoms, but it’d be funny if Mac Geniuses were suddenly ‘cool.’ Though I’ve heard of female customers swooning over some of the more handsome Geniuses at SoHo and other major stores…
Stupid!!!
