I have to confirm what Jan Says, as I've worked in Le Printemps.
In fact, it's there since 1864 (150+ years) and there's absolutely no way for the new italian owner of Le Printemps to get rid of these buildings that people inside the Printemps group refers as "le vaisseau amiral" (the flagship, if you will). It's making a lot of money, I can tell you. Almost every tourist visiting Paris take a tour of these famous department stores (Le Printemps, Bon Marché, Galeries Lafayette...)
I'm not working any longer in there but I've friends inside, I'm visiting it regularly to say hello to them, and I can tell you the company is actually consolidating its sales on fashion. I can't see Apple get some space here (which can be in fact possible as the store as a concession policy for great brands), I'm going to look that from the inside closely anyway. Just in case.
(sorry for possible English mistakes).

The building on the pictures is the famous flagship store of the Printemps department stores - and there is absolutely no indication that they will leave this location where they have been for more than 100 years. The building is vast compared to the Apple Store in London - probably much more than 10x the floor space (not even counting the two other Printemps buildings next to it.) The ground floor of the building is occupied by the largest beauty department in the world. The three adjacent Printemps buildings (the one on the pics is the largest) offer a total surface area of 474,000 square meters - more than 100 times the surface area of the Regent street Apple Store!

I don't understand who brought this "rumor" into the world - or who would take it seriously...

Nor does, apparently, the Italian SetteB site you link to; as I understand it, they say (my loose translation):

"It is certain that there's no reason to think that Apple has made this choice, or that the Printemps store would give up this part of their buildings or that the remodeling works would have started."

I can only think of one reason Printemps would ever leave this building: bankrupcy. And if that were to happen, I'm sure it would make headlines all over Europe.
