A landlord-tenant glitch has arisen in Zurich (Switzerland) that could postpone the opening of an Apple store there by two years. The tagesanzeiger Web site reports that Benetton currently occupies the space at 77 Bahnhofstrasse, which Apple had signed to occupy after Benetton moves out. However, Benetton apparently has not found a replacement location, and now wants to stay in the space after January 1st. The company also wants to continue paying the same lease price, which is apparently less than the landlord can obtain from Apple. Bottom line: Apple’s European retail expansion could be delayed.
