WWDC Update

During today’s Apple World Wide Developer’s Conference in San Francisco, Steve Jobs kicked off his morning keynote speech by summing up Apple’s products, financial performance and retail stores. He noted the 17 million visitors to Apple’s stores last quarter, the opening of the Fifth Avenue store, and that 50 percent of Apple store computer purchases are by people who are new-to-Mac. Jobs also told the software developers that the company’s retail stores sold “half a billion dollars” of third-party products in the previous 12 months. Phil Schiller then introduced the final two pieces of the Intel transition: the Mac Pro, and the Intel-based Xserve. Apple later announced lower prices for its line of Cinema Displays.
