Albuquerque…Finally!

May 11, 2006

The dream of Albuquerque (NM) Mac enthusiasts has finally come true, with news that the state’s first retail store will open this fall at the new ABQ Uptown mall on the city’s east side. It’s one of three new store locations just revealed, and that are located in lifestyle-type malls. Apple’s other new stores will be located at the Coconut Point mall alongside Hwy. 41 in Bonita Springs (Fla.), about 10 miles north of the planned Waterside Shops store, and at the Otay Ranch Town Center in Chula Vista (S. Calif.), a fast-growing suburb south of San Diego. The Albuquerque and Bonita Springs malls are accompanied by office space, hotels, condos and other public spaces. All the malls are scheduled to open by year’s end, and it seems logical that Apple’s stores would open at the same time.
