Second Honolulu Store Planned

May 9, 2006

Apple is negotiating a lease with the Kahala Mall on the eastern edge of Honolulu (Hi.), about four miles from the existing Ala Moana Mall store that is closer to the busy downtown district. The island of O’ahu hosts about 350,000 tourists a month spending over $400 million, with over one-third of those visitors from other countries. Otherwise, the island’s demographics ($69,039 average household income) and population (853,000) are in the middle range of Apple store territories with multiple stores. Apple resellers react to the news in this Honolulu Advertiser story.
