Rome Store Possibility ID’d

February 18, 2006

While I’ve been looking city-center and west for a Rome Apple store, the two-story RomaEst shopping mall has been under construction 8 miles east of the city. It’s coincidentally scheduled for a June grand opening, making it another possibility for the planned Apple store in Rome. The mall will feature 215 stores and restaurants, a multi-screen cinema and a 7,000-car parking structure for visitors who come off the adjacent A24 highway and loop expressway. The 1 million s.f. mall is being developed by Italian retail giant Gruppo PAM, and will be anchored by stores from the company’s grocery and hypermarket divisions. Other tenants haven’t been revealed yet..including if Apple is among them.
