While Boston has several Apple stores in the metro area, there are none within the city limits. Now the LoopRumors Web site has revealed that Boston will host an Apple store in a sleek, street-level store across from the huge downtown Prudential Center. The location at 815 Boylston St. will be announced by Mayor Thomas Menino this week, and is in the heart of the city’s tourist and business district. The location is also directly across the street from the future The Residences at Mandarin Oriental, a 6-star hotel and condo complex set to open in 2007. According to LoopRumors, Apple has signed a lease on the 60-foot wide space, and apparently will demolish the existing two-story building to construct a four-story Apple store.
