It will be a big week for Apple: the Macworld Expo in San Francisco could be the launching point for lots of new and upgraded products, and Apple will announce its first quarter 2006 financial results on Wednesday covering the critical holiday shopping season. As always, both events have the potential to be positive or negative for the company, its customers, shareholders and the stock price. Everyone knows that Steve Jobs will be announcing something interesting, if not exactly ground-breaking at Macworld, although the lack of a live Quicktime stream has everyone worried this Macworld will be a bust. There is every indication that financial results will be at least on-target, although shareholders always want more than that, so the stock price could tumble if the results aren’t outta sight. I’ll be covering both events and will collect and digest any retail-related news.
