This site has always been about Apple’s retail stores, and not its people. The irony, of course, is that a retail operation is almost entirely about the people, and not the walls, floors and lights that help create a superior retail experience. I’ve generally let the Apple store personnel do their work without any probing or scrutiny from me. Along the way, I’ve met some pretty remarkable store employees, not just because they’re Apple geniuses, but because they’re smart, energetic, genuinely friendly and totally enthusiastic about Apple’s products. When you’re around these people you recognize the full potential of technology, and realize what you can do with Apple gear. You feel a renewed creativity, and a desire to immediately get back home and start work on a new project at the computer.
Now, as one of Great Ones leaves Apple, I can only marvel at what a great run it was, and offer my “Best Wishes!” for the future. It’s certainly going to be a lot quieter in some stores…
