Photos of the South Shore (Mass.) and Shibuya (Tokyo) stores reveal a new rear wall design–stainless steel, very similar to the mini-store design. If you look closely at photos, the rear door at South Shore is a duplicate of the mini-store rear doors.

The Palo Alto (N. Calif.) store also received a major make-over: the warped wooden flooring was replaced, the rear theater was removed and replaced with a Studio, the Genius Bar was relocated, and the center software shelving was removed and replaced with counters and shelving for iPods and associated music gear.

Whoa! Customers arrived up to 4 hours early for the Southpoint (Durham, NC) retail store on ‘tax-free’ shopping day–and some waited over 4 hours to be let into the store. The Regent Street (London) store will host recording artist KT Tunstall on August 23rd. The singer has gone platinum with her "Eye to the Telescope" album. Apple’s announcement candidly advises visitors to "arrive early" on that day, since seating is "limited."

By 8 p.m. there is an official Shibuya waiting line! Youichi was first in line at 5 a.m., with about five persons now behind him. You may recall that Youichi has been to all the Japan grand openings, and had been first several times.
