Apple’s Retail segment reported record revenues of $376 million for the 4th fiscal quarter, up from $270 million in the previous quarter, and up from $193 million for the same quarter of 2003. Sales of CPUs were also up: the stores sold 98,000 units during the quarter, compared to 73,000 during the previous quarter, and 59,000 in the same quarter of 2003. Overall, Apple reported revenue for the 4th fiscal quarter of $2.35 billion, up 37% from the same quarter of 2003, with a profit of $106 million, up from $44 million last year. The number of store visitors increased to 7.8 million during the quarter, compared to 5.8 million in the previous quarter, or up 34%. Average store revenue was $4.6 million, compared to $3.4 million in the previous quarter, or up 35%. Oppenheimer said the company will have 100 stores open by the end of 2004.
