Carpet Yanked From Mini-Stores

October 5, 2004

The Stanford (N. Calif.) Shopping Center is a mellow kinda place, just a football’s toss from the Palo Alto home of… you-know-who. So it wouldn’t be surprising if Steve wheeled up in his MBZ to take a look at the construction progress of the mini-store in the mall, and to then declare the carpet color all wrong! Yikes! From the flurry of pick-up truck activity at the mall, it appears his decision has sparked a complete removal of all carpet from all seven mini-stores, costing literally thousands of dollars…make that hundreds of thousands of dollars. Hey, who’s counting? Extra kneepads have been ordered for the carpet workers, who have instructions to have the last square inch ripped up in time for the Stanford and Oakridge mini-store grand openings…soon.
