The JapanConsuming Web site has posted a story about the new Shinsaibashi (Japan) retail store, saying it drew 5,000 total visitors on opening day, more than other fashion-related openings in the same shopping district. The article also notes that the 4-story Ginza (Tokyo) store draws 4,000 visitors a day, who spend about $913,000 a week. In comparison, all the U.S. stores average about 800 visitors a day and $283,000 a week.
