Apple has installed in-store paging systems at the Genius Bars of some stores, allowing waiting customers to make a reservation, then wander off and be alerted when a Genius is ready to help them. The NTN pagers are much more elegant than those huge, round models with flashing LEDs that restaurants use. Apple is not worried that you’ll wander off with the pager, since they’re taking some information about you in the first place for the reservation. Next time you’re in a store, check near the red phone for the paging keypad (right) and a battery charger rack with pagers.
