I attended the iPod mini debut at the Walnut Creek (Calif.) store, and found there were plenty for everyone who wanted to buy one. About 35 persons were in the purchase line at 6 p.m., having obtained a numbered slip of paper since earlier in the afternoon. At 6 p.m. they were directed to the three cashiers at the point-of-sale counter, and the buying began! During the next 40 minutes perhaps another 5-10 persons joined the line, but there wasn’t a crush of iPod mini buyers during the first hour of sales. The store had excellent, 12-page brochures to promote the two iPod models. I’m anxious to know which color was the most popular!
