Apple Computer is a friendly, team-oriented place to work, so it’s no surprise that product designers and retail folks often find themselves across the table in the Caffe Macs headquarters cafeteria during lunch time. Most of the talk is centered around the final episode of "Friends," or what toppings are best on the cafeteria’s made-to-order mini-pizzas. But sometimes they two sides trade ideas… that turn into concepts… that become reality. Take the idea of the iPod mini. Downsizing– it sounds like a great idea! Maybe that’s how the retail team came to propose a series of mini Apple stores across the country, and why they’re now focusing on a southern California college campus for the prototype of the first midget Apple store.
