iPod Sales 8,000 a Day

An explanation of sorts for the reported shortage of iPods during the holiday season: Apple reports that it sold 730,000 of the devices during Oct., Nov., Dec., (8,000 a day!) out of the total of “over 2 million” since the device was first introduced–that’s about 35% of the total run of iPods during just the last three months of 2003. What factory could keep up with that rate of sales?
