Something big on Saturday?

We've been told by the construction guys to clear out our parking lot on Saturday, from 7AM to 4PM (ET), to make way for a crane - it must be a BIG one. They've been using a crane that sits in the alleyway to do some lifting over the past few weeks, but I guess this one must need a lot more space – our parking lot can hold 4 cars (2 x 2).

If anyone has nothing to do on a lazy Saturday, keep the site up and watch the crane do its thing...

I can't wait for this store to open. Any word on a Date yet? I know they are advertising jobs on Apple.com so it can't be too far in the future.

I walked by last night and you could see the outline of the apple logo through the tarp covering the scaffolding. It was massive - much larger than most other stores. Looked to me like it was about 8-10 feet across. Who knows if that is just the way the shadow was cast, but it looks big none the less. I walk by this spot a few times a week - I can't wait for it to open so I don't have to trudge all the way to Cambridge.

I was at the Cambridgeside store for about 4 hrs today. My Macbook's hard drive went dead. so I was chatting with one of the guys there and he said one of the main reasons they are opening this store, is that the cambridge store is getting overfilled with people. He also mentioned that the cambridge store is getting a 100% re-design within the next month as well.

wow, a redesign of Cambridge would be nice. Between the register and those display islands, you can't get in or out of the store easily if anyone is standing there. Was never sure if that was a theft deterrent or just bad design.

I hope back bay has more Geniuses. Often Cambridge is backed up all day by 9am. (and, of course, the wild hope for people who know what they're doing...)

I would imagine that the Apple store in Salem, NH is beyond full with people obviously looking to save on the sales tax. It's too bad you couldn't go to the Boston store, show them your NH Driver's License, and have them wipe out the sales tax. No, Deville Deval would not like that. Too much liberal socialism to pay for; too many illegals who need coddling.

Hey, by law, you're supposed to pay to mass the sales tax for things you buy tax-free in NH.
