iPhone Coming Together

More and more tidbits of information are being dug up by the various Web sites, giving a fuller picture of the iPhone, its release date and how it will be supported. The AppleInsider Web site has a good wrap-up of the info, pointing to June 15th for iPhone's release, and the use of a Personal Trainer to help customers learn by phone of the new device's features. Not surprisingly, the iPhone displays will be completely interactive, requiring an AC power supply and wireless connections (Wi-Fi & cellular) for the display. Still to be revealed is what the display might look like, and operational details about how Apple store personnel will be selling the phone. You'll recall from your last purchase of a cellular handset and service that it takes more than a few minutes, and some computer work to check your credit history, collect and enter registration info and activate the service on the proper plan. It seems like this process will take more time than most other Apple store transactions (although I suppose a complete computer demo, explanation and purchase takes about the same amount of time).
