Another Store Variation
The story of the San Luis Obispo store architectural approval is pretty enlightening. It seems to signal to what lengths Apple's retail team is willing to go to keep its standard design. Now that Apple seems to be pushing into smaller towns with street-level spaces, you might ask why Apple's premier architectural team at Bohlin, Cywinski Jackson couldn't come up with an alternate exterior design to better fit in. Well, the answer is, they could. But Apple doesn't want to. So, whoever is attending their local architectural commission meetings had better pay attention--a store is coming to your town, but no one is going to tell you ahead of time.
