A small announcement on the Facebook page of The Shops at Nanuet (NY) shopping mall has revealed that an Apple retail store will open there when the mall holds its own grand re-opening October 10th through 13th. The store hasn’t been previously known, hidden among the off-limits construction of the extensively re-developed mall. Simon Property Group management has been slowly announcing tenants over the past several weeks, including Sephora, L’Occitane and various restaurants. This morning the mall’s Facebook page posted a white Apple logo with the explanation, “The newest store to join the amazing lineup at The Shops at Nanuet needs no introduction.” The store will fill in coverage for the region about 20 miles north of Manhattan and framed by the existing Tice’s Corner, The Palisades and Ridge Hill stores. The mall’s grand re-opening is set for October 10-13, and the Apple store could open on the first day of that event. Update: On October 7th Apple announced this new store would be a replacement for the existing Palisades (NY) store, and would open on October 10, 2013 at 10 a.m. It’s only the third time (City Creek Center, Eton) that Apple has moved an existing store to a different mall in the same region.
