Future Store Spotted In Vancouver Suburb

February 24, 2012

Driving times to reach an Apple store in the eastern suburbs of Vancouver (BC) will be substantially reduced after a new store opens at the Coquitlam Centre mall later this year. The store will become an eastern outpost for Apple, which has a city center Vancouver location and three stores scattered in surrounding suburbs. The new store will be 30 minutes drive east from the existing Metrotown store in Burnaby, and will provide coverage to several commuter suburbs. A job listing for the future store just appeared on Apple’s Web site, so the store could open by this September.

Coquitlam Centre is located at the Coquitlam transit exchange (buses and train) site. The West Coast Express train (ground rails) stops there at the Coquitlam Central Station.

Scheduled for completion for the summer of 2016 the Evergreen Line elevated rapid transit SkyTrain Coquitlam Central Station will also be there.

Here at the opening. I was #34 in line at 8:00 a.m. An employee says it is the largest Apple Store in Canada.
