Once again Apple has shunned the historic streets of an Italian city for a retail store, and has chosen the I Gigli suburban shopping in Florence (Italy) for the country’s next location. As reported by NonSoloMac.com, the future store will occupy the former Mondadori space on the ground floor, facing into a large circular courtyard at one end of the mall. Job listings were posted last January, but a specific location wasn’t identified until March. Construction documents just posted on the traditional black barricade show a completion date of August 2011, meaning the store will open in September.

The future Apple store is tucked into a space facing a large, sunny courtyard.
