After several rumors and tips about a second store in Utah, job listings now confirm a future store at the Fashion Place shopping mall in Murray later this year. The mall sits just off the intersection of Interstates 15 and 215 in the Salt Lake Valley, and about eight miles south of the existing The Gateway store in Salt Lake City. The city of Murray’s population is just 34,000, but the mall’s trade area is nearly 875,000 residents with an respectably-high average household income of $76,098. Based on construction and hiring schedules, the store could open in late October.

Finally!! I’m very excited & happy that I don’t have to deal with traffic & parking fees in Gateway anymore, I will be able to walk to the new store.
This is good news indeed :)
I would have put it in South Towne Mall. Fashion Place is really close to the Gateway. South Towne is a little bit further away but still in the Salt Lake area. South Towne seems more upscale to me, and it offers better access to people coming from Utah County in the south. Still, Fashion Place will be a lot more convenient than Gateway, what with the parking inconveniences of being downtown.
Have you been to Fashion Place mall within the last 5 years? It is significantly more upscale at this point than the South Towne mall. Both areas are high in traffic but Fashion Place is a better fit for the atmosphere Apple desires.
Fashion Place is far more upscale than South Towne, plus Fashion Place has the highest traffic / sales stats of any mall in the state.
