March 1, 2011

Continuing towards its goal of more international locations, Apple will open a retail store inside the enormous Parquesur shopping mall in the southern suburbs of Madrid (Spain) by year’s end. The 1.6 million square-foot mall is among the largest in Europe, and is the small town of Leganés, one of many that comprise the Madrid metropolis. The mall underwent a renovation is 2005 and now has 230 retailers. The future store will be about 10 miles from the existing suburban Xanadu Apple store, and about seven miles from a future city center Madrid store on Puerta del Sol. The store could open by late September.
