Second Store Confirmed For Hamburg

February 28, 2011

Later this year Apple will open a store in city-center Hamburg (Germany), 10 miles from the existing Alstertal store in a suburban shopping center. The future store is 60-feet wide, and will probably occupy two levels inside a six-story building at Jungfernstieg 12 that overlooks Binnenalster, a picturesque artificial lake in the middle of the city. Job listings appeared on Apple’s Web site today, and the store could open by late September. Another six stores are also scheduled to open during the month.

Do you have any experiences how long the preperation time of a store takes? Any idea when the store could be opened???

They are actually working on this store for quite a long time. Saw that they startet with decoration and building the interior a few weeks ago. It is definetly a two level store. But now the store front is closed with a big black cover.

Yes, I too live in Hamburg and walk past this store everyday. It has been under construction since late last year and from peaking inside it looks almost done. I do not think it will open in September as that is too far away. They have already started hiring back in Feb. and as I just stated the inside is about done. I wouldn’t be surprised if it is open in June.

If someone else has some info that would be great.
