Apple ‘Moves’ Store To Another City

November 17, 2010

Just one week after it opened, the Summit Mall (Ohio) store has been officially moved six miles up West Market Street, from the big city of Akron to the small (pop. 7,007) town of Fairlawn. Actually, Apple simply updated the store’s Web listing (right) from one city to another to truly reflect the location of the mall, which even its developers list as being within Akron. The Akron-Fairlawn city limit runs adjacent to the shopping mall at the northeast corner, but is about one-half mile away to the southeast. Update: Two days later, Apple changed the store’s location back to “Akron.”

The Summit Mall is about one-half mile northeast of the Akron city limit (blue), but is firmly within the city of Fairlawn.
