Visitors to the St. Louis Galleria (Mo.) Apple store this Saturday will find a new space at a new location, offering about four times the display and service area of the mini-store that opened at the mall in 2004. The new store is part of an on-going project to convert the original nine mini-stores to full-size stores, and a wider plan to construct larger stores to accommodate more visitors. In fact, company officials have described this new location as the largest mall-based store in the chain, about 6,000 square-feet. Insiders say Apple will also occupy the kiosk in front of the store formerly occupied Starbucks. It’s not clear if that space will also be revealed on Saturday. In a Tuesday e-mail to area Apple customers, the company said a traditional grand opening will be held at 10 a.m., and will include 1,000 commemorative T-shirts for visitors.
