New Store Proves Resellers Are Alive

May 19, 2010

A new Authorized Apple Reseller in Florida seems to prove that the concept of independent stores is still viable, even with competition from Apple’s own retail stores. The OneClick store in the city of Doral west of Miami is 14 miles equidistant from three of Apple’s stores. It stuffs a lot of sales and service into a small space at the Windmill Gate Shopping Center, and features a very clean, black-and-white exterior that recalls the early Apple store design. Marketing director Jean Paul Ciaramella says the store sells the full line of Apple’s products, offers AppleCare and other repair services, and provides corporate computer solutions. Ciaramella says just one week after opening the store has a “constant flow” of visitors to the store. Visit their Web site.

Sad to say, those aren’t photos – they are some kind of rendering. The laptops are just scaled up versions as the size increases. The proportions are wrong and the keyboards keep getting bigger – no speaker grills on the larger ones. The back of the iMacs are way too shiny (I thought at first that they left the protective plastic on them). Also, the backs of the products are missing logos.

Sharp eyes, indeed! When I viewed the image showing the front of the store, it somehow convinced me that both images were photographs. I’m contacting the store to find out exactly what the store looks like. I should say that Mr. Ciaramella did not say the graphics from the company’s Web site were photographs. I made that assumption myself.

And the color of the upper part of the wall mounted counters changed color from one view to the other.

Another good eye! Yes, the area around the big screens for the AppleTV and above the Mac Pro is white in one image and the image from outside the store they are black.

The photos here are renders.. Sorry guys! We do have actual full color photos of the actual store front and the interior and we’re working on getting them added to both the website, and hopefully this posting. Thanks for the continuing support! Come check us out if you’re in the area!
