Houston Stores Closed Ahead of ‘Ike’

September 12, 2008

Apple’s six stores in the Houston (Tex.) areas closed yesterday in advance of tonight’s arrival of Hurricane Ike, which now has wind gusts up to 110 mph. The retail stores will remain closed Saturday, but will re-open on Sunday for normal operation. Only the Baybrook store location is near any water, but flood plain maps show that, despite being just eight miles west of Galveston Bay, the mall would not subject to storm surge flooding.
