Back-to-School Promo: iPod Touch

June 2, 2008

Apple’s retail stores will again be a major participant in the company’s annual Back-to-School promotion, which will include an offer of a free iPod touch with the purchase of qualifying computers. According to sources, freight companies have delivered window graphics to Apple’s retail stores that will be installed after the close of business on Tuesday. The graphics will promote the B-t-S deal, which essentially provides up to a $299 discount on certain computer models. However, instead of handing out cash discounts, Apple is handing out iPod devices (nano or touch), which will generate iTunes music sales, more store visits, and serve as advertising for Apple’s line of products as students use them in public.

Essentially a $300 discount?

Hardly. More like a $100 discount- You don’t actually think it costs Apple $300 to make an iPod touch do you?

$300 discount or free iPod touch I’ll take the discount any day.
