Second City Centre London Store?

March 5, 2008

Last December tipsters pointed to the Covent Garden district of London as the site for a second city centre Apple retail store, and now real estate sources say it will be located at 4 The Piazza, in the space occupied by the Rock Garden restaurant and night club. As first reported by Macworld UK, the Estates Gazette says that the store will occupy 25,000 square feet on three levels, and will be one of the most expensive lease signings for the district, which is home to hundreds of restaurants and shops. The Regent Street store immediately became the chain’s busiest when it opened in November, 2004, and has remained among the busiest and highest-revenue stores since then. This store would help serve the increasing number of visitors that Regent Street hosts.
